I wanted to give you guys some organic lawn care tips tonight and hopefully convince you as to why you should “go green” with your lawn and grass (like growing grass seed). It isn’t really just about the environment (though that is a good thing), it is a lot about the overall health and appearance of the yard in general.

Organic Fertilizers

These are ones that will break down and release nutrients because of heat and not water. You see, old style synthetic fertilizers require that you water them into the lawn in order to get results and have the nitrogen and other nutrients released into the soil where the grass can utilize it.

Organics, however, rely on heat to release and that means the nutrients are released very slowly. This very slow release of nutrients feeds the lawn and helps it grow and thicken up very slowly. The slow growing process means that the lawn can sustain its health long term in light of pressures from disease and insects.

Organic lawn fertilizers are also fool proof and will not burn grass. that makes them better for homeowners who often make mistakes by either putting down too much fertilizer all over, or spilling some of it when they are applying.

If you want to go green with your lawn care, go organic and start this season in 2011. Best of luck !
